The thoughtful design of Hypha fosters meaningful connections by encouraging face-to-face communication in its circular seating arrangements. These layouts make spaces more accessible and welcoming for diverse users, including those who rely on sign language or lip reading.

The name Hypha is inspired by hyphae, the branching filaments that form the root-like structure of fungi. Just as hyphae grow and intertwine to create expansive, interconnected networks, Hypha Benches & Tables are designed to bring people together, shaping spaces that foster connection and interaction.

F+S Junior Product Designer, Lin Zhu, explains, “Our hope is that Hypha helps people slow down in the fast-paced rhythm of life, even if just for a few minutes. It’s about fostering genuine connections and truly enjoying the present moment.”

Each slat of the Hypha Bench is brake formed from single sheets of aluminum that minimize material waste and energy use, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility.

The smooth, flowing lines of the bench legs and the rounded edges of the tables are inspired by natural elements, allowing the pieces to harmonize effortlessly with their surroundings. To enhance versatility, the bench slats can feature two powdercoat colors, creating a distinctive two-tone effect

“I really love the soft, rounded corners of the Hypha Table and the smooth transitions of the bench. For such a large-scale product, we aimed to avoid any harsh lines, and wanted the visual experience to be as smooth as flowing water, like a waterfall,” says Lin.

Both the benches are tables are designed with gentle curves and harmonious proportions, enhancing Hypha’s overall aesthetic. Premium wood options, including FSC® Mix Credit Thermally Modified Red Oak and FSC® 100% Cumaru hardwood, add warmth and a timeless quality, allowing Hypha to blend seamlessly into any outdoor setting.
